DRBL systems

DRBL historical data

Older seasons can have box scores or raw play-by-play without a published DRBL estimate. Missing DRBL is not a zero.

Why it matters

  • Fans often ask why older seasons show box scores but not DRBL.
  • Clear coverage boundaries stop people from treating blanks as “bad” seasons.

How to interpret it

  • Raw data can exist farther back than seasons DRBL currently supports as a product estimate.
  • Supported seasons are listed on the DRBL overview and season registry.
  • Unsupported seasons are not filled with placeholder DRBL numbers.

How DRBL uses it

  • Player pages show an explicit unsupported / missing reason when DRBL is not published.
  • Explore filters respect DRBL season coverage.
