Transactions · How they got him
The Hawks drafted Luka Dončić 3rd in 2018, and the Mavericks likely got him in a draft-night swap for Trae Young.
Trae Young (5th) was the Mavericks' pick that year and first shows up with the Hawks. The log doesn't record the trade and first mentions Dončić with the Mavericks re-signing on Jul 9, 2018.
